Cavitation

For inch loss and cellulite reduction.

Cavitation is liposuction without the anaesthetic, no scars, no discomfort, no downtime.

A low level ultrasound is used to destroy the fat cells and turning them into liquid which is then excreted by the body. Each treatment lasts around 30 minutes.

An average of 1-2 cm reduction in circumference can be achieved after a single treatment of cavitation. The areas treated are abdomen and flanks (love handles) thighs and buttocks.

A course of 8 treatments is needed.

Cavitation Session - $99

How Cavitation works

The cavitation head emits ultrasonic sound energy at 40-50kHz at two separate modulations, which penetrates the skin to a depth of approximately 8-9mm. This is just deep enough to reach the subcutaneous fat layer.

The ultrasonic sound waves cause low pressure bubbles to form within the fat cells, known as adipocytes, the cell membranes rupture and release their contents into the space between the fat cells, the interstitial space.

The adipocytes are pulverized, this causes the cell membranes to rupture and forces the fat cell to release their contents.

Fat cells contain fatty acids, triglycerides and water which then spill out from the broken cell membranes and are released into the interstitial space. This mechanism is not liquefaction of fat, it is the instant emptying out of the cells rather than the destruction of cells which is called lipolysis.

A second modulation causes a positive pressure wave through the interstitial space, which promotes accelerated lymphatic drainage. This process takes place with no effect to the neighboring structures such as skin, blood vessels, and peripheral nerves. Within 48 hours after treatment, some form of cardio vascular exercise is needed to raise your heart rate, to increase the metabolic rate, this ensures the best results from treatment.

The body will use the fuel available in the blood stream, which includes the fatty acids and triglycerides that were released by the cavitation treatment.

Once the fuel in the bloodstream has been used up, the liver will begin to target the remaining fat deposits, starting with those most easily broken down which are the treated areas. Therefore, the more exercise that is taken between treatments, the better your results will be! Cavitation is a great means of reminding your body about those long dormant fat deposits that no amount of exercise seems to be able to target.
